White Ash

Has a pronounced open-grain pattern similar to red oak. Can be stained to resemble oak.

Colour
Sapwood is creamy white; heartwood is light to dark brown.

Physical Properties
Strong, heavy hard, stiff, high in shock-resistance.

Working Properties
Excellent bending qualities (snowshoes), above average

Applications
Furniture, flooring, architectural millwork, paneling, sporting goods (hockey sticks, snowshoes, baseball bats), tool handles.
